some people get the urge to buy clothes, or cars, or electronics, movies, shoes, etc. when i get the urge to shop, it is almost always for music and the urge came upon me yesterday. after finishing with a party function yesterday afternoon, i ventured to borders to pick out some great new cds to take home with me.

granted, i didn’t actually end up getting anything i had on my list when i went in, but the outing was nonetheless successful. after some deliberation, i picked out four albums:

i showed this to a friend today and decided i should post it. i like elton john and i like william shatner so this video is a match made in heaven. oh, and its funny as shit.

i had a dream a few nights back that was very vivid. it had a plot, numerous characters, and even a soundtrack. i don’t recall now what the dream was about, but i do remember the soundtrack song. its an actual song. a song from an actual movie soundtrack….

i can’t say i’ve ever had a soundtrack to any dream before. certainly not a song i like from my waking life. its very strange sensation, hearing theme music you know is from a movie. does that make any sense?

anyway, its a good song, from a good soundtrack, from a good movie.

another song i’ve been listening to, by lifehouse….

its funny how certain songs immediately make me think of certain people. sure, there are songs that recall memories of places, events, people, feelings, but most of the time they’re songs that reference the memory because they were playing at the time. occasionally, though, a new song, one i hear years after, can make me think of someone i rarely think about at all anymore. someone i used to care for a great deal. someone i was in love with. someone who broke my heart.

for starters, i should be in bed, but a new glorious song and a slew of pictures have inspired me to postpone bed time for all sorts of fabulous updates….

as i previously mentioned, i purchased 19, by adele over the weekend. i came across this incredible singer during one of my sleepless nights watching videos on vh1. i finally got around to buying the album after listening to a couple of her songs. the one i’ve been listening to for most of the day is called hometown glory. its the last song on the album and its gorgeous. i may get laughs for saying so, but when i first started listening to it, really listening to it (looking at the lyrics) it brought me to the brink of tears. its a beautiful song and i can’t help but want to listen to it over and over and over and over again.

also included here is a video of my roommate shawn getting ready for a drag party. i’m not sure what else to add as i think the video speaks for itself (do i really sound like that?).
