its a good sign that things are looking up for this blog when i start getting requests for new content. yup, i got the first one today….

so, it turns out i’m not a total dumbass after all. ok, that may still be debatable. a friend of mine has been helping me improve my ability to decipher non-verbal communications. body language. particularly a woman’s body language. i’ve always had some inkling, but given my track record, i’ve trained my brain over the years to discount the non-verbal communication, since i really couldn’t be sure. given other quirks, phobias, and social limps i’ve developed over the years, i guess i never got the practice i needed to be more sure. big surprise.

while stuffing envelopes tonight countless conversations flew back and forth between those of us committed enough (or who have no lives) to stuff envelopes for a massive party mailer, i had a conversation with one of the guys about music. it was brief and i don’t recall how it came up.

he made reference to pink floyd as a jam band (with a negative tone). ‘i don’t like jam bands,’ he said. pink floyd isn’t a jam band. at least, i’ve never thought it to be one. pink floyd is a classic rock band, the original alternative band. it’s not a jam band.

i love it.

i mean, of course i do, but sometimes i’m reminded how much i love all the little bits.

i’ve been listening to cath… by death cab for cutie. i’ve had the album for a while now, but as is often the case, i’ve come back to it and discovered how much i like this song. is it one of my favorites? probably not, but certainly one of my favorite death cab songs.

it opens with a guitar rift and symbols and the first verse is my favorite….
