it only makes sense, right?
it might seem a bit late to be writing a post of this nature, but to be honest, i started writing this post weeks ago. i tried to complete it twice since then and this is my third attempt. yes, i’ve completely started over….
you know, i’ve never been one for making resolutions for new years. i’ve never understood the point. sure, i get the whole ‘start fresh’ idea behind it all, but how many people actually stick to their resolutions for more than a few weeks? i’d guess not many. aside from not really liking making plans, i’ve never had a whole lot of will-power. i know this and so don’t bother making silly resolutions every year that i know won’t amount to much.
now, having said that, this year has the potential to be really great.
~i’m applying to law school (though i imagine most of you already know that). i haven’t a clue what my chances of getting in actually are, but here’s hoping.
~i’m looking for a new job. that’s right, i’ve more or less had it with the whole systems admin sector. i guess that’s not to say i wouldn’t continue to do it, but i just don’t really want to continue doing it where i’m at now. yes, their most bastards.
~hoping to get a job as a community organizer. i’m not sure where yet, but as of this writing, i have at least one resume out. keep your fingers crossed for me!
~my best friend from college is actually getting married! if you don’t know him, you might not understand why this is a big deal. and honestly, if you don’t already understand it, i’m not sure i’m keen to lay it out for you. sorry.
i feel like there should be more, but maybe that’s enough.
i know i haven’t posted much in the last few months, but my life’s been pretty busy/stressful. i haven’t felt much like writing. but for better or worse, things are starting to stablize, and thus i’m more inclined to write.
here’s to a good year for everyone in 2009!
