my new FAVORITE app for my iphone is the manual for the united states of america. for only $.99 i get all these documents in the palm of my hand:

it’s been a… a bit of a surreal few days. expansive? yeah, maybe that too, a bit.

once again, it’s hard to comment fully and accurately. at least not on all of it. to put it succinctly, i’m pretty happy.  for the most part, things are good. odd, but good.

i spent some time last night with a friend of mine who’s been helping me open up. expand is the word of choice. it’s a good thing, though maybe not in the way you might be thinking (for those of you who know me really well).

i’m looking forward to it for a couple of different reasons.

for starters, i believe i have a meeting with someone for whom i have a great deal of respect. she is one of two people to whom i most attribute whatever success i’ve had in politics and in the party since i started, approaching three years ago. the meeting its is exciting because it will hopefully give me the opportunity to meet new people and begin building a coalition around progressive ideas and goals. she also mentioned having me do some ‘speaking’ (i’m assuming to groups of people) regarding the question of the hawaii state constitutional convention, which will be put to a vote this november….

many people i know spent the labor day holiday weekend sunbathing on a beach, enjoying the company of friends and family, and the like. i basically spent the weekend studying.

roughly six hours on saturday.
almost seven hours on sunday.
nearly four hours today, a holiday on which i didn’t have to work….
